The first two prints are from yesterday as I finally found the right style and technique. For the last two I created a new plate, allowing a larger print; the area below may yet be filled with text, though
I can't really decide what would look stronger- leave them how they are and give the cutouts space or include text. Hmmm...
the prints are much more "your own" Jamie, than any of the other things. Inevitably the cut outs on their own are very reminicent or Kara Walker's although it is a technique and not exclusively hers I will conceed. We are ultimately all naked when we present our work to the world and people will want to clothe you in the cloth of others. Be constantly on your guard and rationalise everything you do. It is a positive to recognise your debt to others.
